Uncle Mezaien
Solving the problem with pixels! This is a project where I designed an illustration, character, and iconset for a digital app trying to tackle the problem of reservation at barbershops in Egypt.
Overview
Mezaien is an application that helps people easily reserve a date to get a haircut wherever from a wide range of barbershops or in their own places.
The application is an appointment, scheduling, and calendar app for a service-driven business - Barbershops.
Stakeholders needed a character - with multiple poses - that hold the name of the application and can represent values and key characteristics of the brand.

Starting with a workshop with stakeholders to discuss the product, the problem the application solves, target users, and the voice that needed to be communicated to users visually then I summarized the meeting outcome into 4 main sentences that represent the product personality & traits...

Refinement for the outline - V1
Not all sketches could be transformed into a good final result, so as quickly as possible I try to move to illustrator version and translate my sketches into a more line refiner version in order to examine the result and how much it's satisfied, as well as excluded what didn't look good.

Iteration on the Character - V2
After I applied the choose colors, I felt that the character needs more iteration in various areas, So I take some time to do small changes to color combinations and the shapes that - as I think - transferred the character to the next level...
When it comes to the context of Mobile Apps, We can't rely on one pose for the character, so I designed multiple poses to be used in different screens like on-boarding, ordering, empty stats...etc
Custom icons for Navigation Drawer
This icon set is designed to be used as a leading icon for the app's main sections, mainly in the navigation side drawer.
